October 10, 2017 – Gainesville, FL – The CONNECT (Creating Opportunities (through) Networking New and Existing Companies (with our region’s) Talent) professional networking group has teamed up with Santa Fe College’s Back to Work 50+ program to reach greater heights in connecting employers with skilled local professional job seekers.
Joining forces with Santa Fe College, CONNECT and Back to Work 50+ programs will work together to connect older workers with valuable, in-demand skills with local employers with employment opportunities requiring those skills. CONNECT will be hosting twice-monthly meetings where employers and job seekers can connect at the Santa Fe College beginning Monday, November 6, 2017. Past employers have included Infinite Energy and Gainesville Health & Fitness.
CONNECT was developed in 2009 in collaboration with the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce, CareerSource North Central Florida, the North Central Florida Society of Human Resource Managers and H.R. Professionals (SHRM). As a professional-level networking group, CONNECT makes it easy for employers to find the highly-skilled talent they are looking for right in their own community.
Santa Fe College’s Back to Work 50+ program helps train older workers to qualify for jobs that are in high demand through classes and workshops.
The CONNECT meetings will be held from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe College Center for Innovation & Economic Development (CIED) located at 530 W University Avenue, Gainesville, Florida.
