How do we do it?
Incumbent Worker Training
Incumbent Worker Training provides reimbursement grants to businesses that provide skills upgrade training to currently employed full-time workers. Training may include industry or business specific skills, technical and computer skills, and “soft-skills” such as leadership, teamwork, and management skills.

Employed Worker Training
Looking for development courses and training for your staff? We can help. Through various grant funds, CareerSource North Central Florida may be able to assist with training costs that result in credentials, certificates, or licenses for your employees.
We provide these services thanks to a network of eligible training providers across Alachua and Bradford counties. Our approved training providers are vetted to ensure they meet our strict standards and provide training for in-demand skills that keep your employees on the cutting-edge and your business competitive in the market.

Paid Work Experience: Youth & Young Adults
The Youth Work Experience program provides area employers with access to talented youth and young adults between the ages of 16 and 24 at no cost to the employer. Employers work with our dedicated youth team to create training plans and work experience opportunities that train youth in high-demand fields. The program enables businesses to grow their bottom-line without increasing their overhead and participants to grow their resume experience while earning wages and gaining new skills.

Entrepreneurship Training for Incumbent Workers
Since 2011, CareerSource North Central Florida has implemented a suite of entrepreneurship training programs proven to increase workers value to businesses. Through vetted curriculums, independent third-party evaluations, and thousands of participants assisted across Florida, we’ve proven entrepreneurship training programs increase the employability and earnings of workers. According to one independent study, workers who took their entrepreneurship training back to traditional employment increased their annual earnings by just under $7000.
