Experience Works is a program funded by the Department of Labor to help citizens age 55 or older become employed. Participants must have an income under 125% of the poverty level. Experience Works participants work twenty hours per week in a variety of local nonprofit agencies where they receive on-the-job training and improve their job skills. Through the program, they are paid minimum wage, and they are hired by their host agency or find permanent, unsubsidized employment elsewhere with the help of the case manager.
