Minimum Wage Increases

Attached are the Minimum Wage documents that are now posted on the DEO website.  Effective January 1, 2013, the Florida minimum wage will increase by 12 cents to $ 7.79 from the current $7.67.

The 2013 minimum wage in Florida is $7.79 per hour, effective January 1, 2013, with a minimum wage of at least $4.77 per hour for tipped employees, in addition to tips.
The minimum wage rate is recalculated yearly on September 30, based on the Consumer Price Index.
The Florida minimum wage is $7.79 per hour, effective January 1, 2013. Florida law requires the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity to calculate a minimum wage rate each year. The annual calculation is based on the percentage increase in the federal Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers in the South Region for the 12-month period prior to September 1, 2012.
