Paychecks for Patriots – Veterans Hiring Fair

Open to Alachua and Bradford County employers

FloridaWorks partnered with Dollar General Corporation, Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO), Workforce Florida Inc. (WFI), Florida Department of Veterans Affairs (FDVA), Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) and the Florida Army National Guard to host a local veterans’ hiring fair.

Paychecks for Patriot will take place on Friday, May 10th from 9:00am-4:00pm in Gainesville at the Freedom Community Center at Kanapaha Veteran’s Memorial Park, 7400 SW 41st Place. This veteran hiring fair is an excellent opportunity to help your company find new talented team members who have served our nation and defended our freedom.

Paychecks for Patriots is one of many simultaneous state-wide veteran hiring fairs. According to a DEO memorandum, Dollar General Corporation hosted 13 simultaneous one-day hiring events at One-Stop Career Centers throughout Tennessee October last year. It was so successful that Steve Brophy, Dollar General Vice President of Government Affairs, replicated and coordinated a similar event with the 24 Regional Workforce Boards in Florida this year.
